How high do you rank the importance of rest?

Rest is so often and so many times mixed, associated, tangled, and confused with many undesirable and judged things. On top of that in this busy world, we more and more forget about the importance of quality rest in our life.

We often link it to being lazy or unproductive.

Our subconscious mind does it more then we do, often we just pick up those beliefs alongside while we grow up.
We think that we need to be very tired or exhausted before we can rest, we think we can rest only on certain days of a week or in specific circumstances.
More often then not we will believe we need to deserve rest or someone else’s permission for it.

Perhaps we need to earn it, we need to do something to have the right to rest, and even when we do, earn, accomplish we rarely understand the importance of rest being the supporting player in all the accomplishing and earning!

The tricky at first but magical part is to know how much rest each of us need. And that is a question no one else will be able to answer for you. Because you are unique and one of a kind you are the only person who can find an answer to that.

Although I can tell you one thing, if you are reading this, you most likely need more rest then you giving yourself credit for.

As someone who works with the subconscious mind I know how many things we can tangle into one simple action. How many emotions can be attached.

So here is how I see it. Here is how I got it Universe-Googled.

You are a divine being living a human experience. There is more to you then what I like to call the meat suit. You are having a physical human experience and you need rest. Meat suit side our physical body is a vessel we have to experience the wonders of this life on Earth.

Look at it like you are having an amazing car, you are driving all the time, your whole life is made of traveling forward on the road. But you need to stop every now and then to at least fuel the car, you cannot fuel it while you are driving.

It is hard to recharge something in the expenditure mode.

If you drive it for a very long time and only stop to fuel it, then sooner or later after some time it will start to break down. It will need maintenance. But if you can regularly stop, change the oil, top up the washer fluids, clean it up and do whatever else we do with our cars (I am defo not an expert). It will work for you for much longer. It will support you in your journey and take you to all the places you want to go without trouble.

Now again, if we think your body is like that car, a vessel, you are not it, you are not the car, nor the body, you are the divine being, the consciousness driving it. That’s why you need to look after the body and let it rest, let it maintain itself as it does it so well.  That is the main importance of rest.

The reality of our physical body and functions is that they never stop, our body is constantly working for us, it does thousands if not millions of processes all the time to keep us breathing, to circulate our blood, to digest, to remove waste, filter impurities, the list goes on.

But the rest we experience support the physical, mental, and emotional body. We all have had those days when we felt shattered, irritable, sad, or scattered. A simple night of good sleep was all we needed to get more clarity and energy to keep going.

It is not only the physical body requiring the rest but also our mind, our heart, and emotions. We are living in the dimension of time and we need that to process and transform.

Sleep files up all your thoughts and events from the day, our body restores and recovers.  Our body and our mind receive the well-needed rest. Meditation can be that too, exercise even, movement, a nice meal with loved ones can provide a form of rest.

In my opinion there is a fine line between the rest and self-care, they are both entangled, supporting us.

So what is the one thing you can do today to honor your individual need for rest?

Is it a half an hour just for you and your favorite book? Is it an early night? Or maybe a walk in nature in pure solitude? No phone, no music, just you being?

How large importance rest plays in your life?

I would love to hear from you, let me know in the comments below!
